2. Freedom and responsibility in science

The principle that the free and responsible practice of science is fundamental to scientific advancement and human and environmental wellbeing is enshrined in the Council’s statutes.

Within the Council, work to advocate for the free and responsible practice of science is overseen by the Committee for Freedom and Responsibility in Science (CFRS).
