By building ISC’s identity and presence at the highest political levels, the Special Envoy will amplify the visibility and voice of the international scientific community within the UN and other global policy fora.</p>

<p>ISC ROA, in collaboration with the National Academy of Science and Technology of Senegal (ANSTS), organised a one-day Science Seminar in Dakar, Senegal, on 22 March 2019. The Seminar was organized as a side event to the ISC RCA2. The theme of the Seminar was “Innovative and Emerging Technologies: A Paradigm shift in Doing Contemporary Science in Africa?”</p>

<p>The 2nd ISC RCA meeting was held on the 20 – 21 March 2019 in Dakar, Senegal. During this meeting, which was attended all Committee statutory members and three ex-officio members, got an update on and discussed ISC ROA planned activities and budgets for 2019/20 where they reviewed a report on the financial performance of the Office.</p>

<p>The International Science Council Regional Office for Africa (ISC ROA), the South African Department of Science and Technology (DST), the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the South African Network for Biosciences (SANBIO) jointly organised a workshop on Health promoting and disease prevention properties of African foods plants and animals from the SADC Region, 13 – 15 March 2019 in Johannesburg, South Africa.</p>
