Cities in the Danger Zone: Adding Natural Threats to the Development Challenges in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Cameroon

Volcanic activities, earthquakes and floods are frequent natural disasters that have a huge impact on the communities directly affected, but in certain African cities little quantifiable data exists. One LIRA-funded research team is taking on this challenge with a view to creating better responses to these ancient and ongoing threats in modern cities.
