International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) and European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS) invite all international societies to participate in this webinar to honour the Day of Immunology on April 29. This year’s topic is “Brain and Immunity: Immunological Insights into Neurological Disorders.”

Recent discoveries have revealed a deep connection between the immune system and the brain—where immune responses can both trigger and heal neurological diseases. This webinar will bring together leading experts to discuss the role of the nervous system in immunity, the immunological mechanisms behind neurological disorders, and emerging treatment strategies.

Key topics include

  • The immune system’s role in neurological disease development and recovery
  • Immunological mechanisms in multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and other conditions
  • The influence of environmental factors such as infections and gut microbiota

This event is open to researchers, clinicians, and immunology enthusiasts worldwide. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain insights into one of the most rapidly evolving fields in immunology.

2025 Day of immunology awards

In addition to the webinar, there will be a call for campaigns to raise awareness on the critical topic of neuroimmunology. Your participation is the key to spreading knowledge and fostering health practices.

You can find more information about how to implement the campaigns and apply for the Day of Immunology Awards here.

Similar to last year, there will be Day of Immunology European Award and Day of Immunology International Award. Each award will honour three societies who run most outstanding awareness campaigns. The awards will be as follows:

  • Day of Immunology European Award, by EFIS: EUR 3,000, EUR 2,000, and EUR 1,000 to the first, second and third most impactful campaigns
  • Day of Immunology International Award, by IUIS: EUR 3,000, EUR 2,000, and EUR 1,000 to the first, second and third most impactful campaigns

Make sure to designate a person among your staff or members to be the “Ambassador” for the campaign that you will develop and implement. Your Ambassador should contact IUIS by sending an email to [email protected] and letting IUIS know that they will be the contact person for all information regarding your campaign.

Then you should submit an application with a short description of your campaign’s action plan explaining what you are planning to do by March 30, 2025. Design a campaign and implement it to take place on or around the Day of Immunology, April 29.

After your campaign is complete: Submit a report, which should include what you did, an estimate of how many people you reached, and what were some of the major results. Make sure to include some pictures of your campaign along the final report. Submit the detailed report to [email protected].

Please note that the deadline for submitting the final report on your campaigns is May 29, 2025. The winners will be announced in early July.
