We invite you to register via the online form below for the ISC Global Knowledge Dialogue for Latin America and the Caribbean, which will be held on the margins of the SRI congress on Wednesday, 28 June 2023. Registrations are open until 22 May 2023.
About the ISC
The Council convenes the scientific expertise and resources needed to lead on catalyzing, incubating and coordinating impactful international action on issues of major scientific and public importance. The Council’s Action Plan forms a practical framework for the ISC’s work until the end of 2024, and to work towards our vision of science as a global public good.
The ISC works at the intersection of science and policy, particularly at the UN level, to ensure that science is integrated into international policy development and that relevant policies take into account both scientific knowledge and the needs of science.
Global Knowledge Dialogue
The Global Knowledge Dialogue is a series of events the ISC is holding through the various regions of the world, which started in Africa at the World Science Forum in 2022. The GKD for Latin America and the Caribbean will be held on the margins of the SRI congress on Wednesday, 28 June 2023.
Representatives of ISC Members from all three categories, as well as representatives of all ISC Affiliated Bodies are invited to attend the GKD for Latin America and the Caribbean.
The full day GKD for Latin America and the Caribbean on 28 June 2023 will consist of three blocks including:
- The ISC in a Member context: A discussion between the ISC leadership, ISC Fellows, and Members on the strategic and organizational objectives of the ISC for the next five years.
- Science in the Global context: Promoting diversity in science and science systems.
- The ISC in a regional context: A dialogue on developing a workstream for the ISC Regional Focal Point for Latin America and the Caribbean in the coming years, as well as a discussion on the future of funding science for sustainability in the region.
