Call for proposals to host in-person meeting of the Liaison Committee of the ISC Regional Focal Point for Latin America and the Caribbean | deadline: 14 March

This meeting is planned for April 2025.

The Regional Focal Point for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) of the International Science Council (ISC) invites ISC Members in the LAC region to submit proposals to host the upcoming face-to-face meeting of the Liaison Committee.

This meeting, planned for April this year (proposed dates, either 7-9 April or 21-23 April), aims to strengthen scientific collaboration, discuss regional priorities, and advance the implementation of the Regional Action Plan. To ensure a meaningful and impactful gathering in 2025, we seek host institutions that can provide a strong scientific justification and propose relevant scientific activities aligned with the priorities of the ISC and the LAC region.

Proposal Requirements

We kindly request interested organizations to submit a proposal including:

1. Scientific Justification

  • Relevance of hosting the meeting within the national scientific context
  • Alignment with key regional and global scientific challenges
  • Expected benefits for the host organization and the broader LAC scientific community

2. Proposed Scientific Activities (3 days)

  • Suggestions for side events, panel discussions, or workshops relevant to regional scientific priorities
  • Opportunities for engagement with national and regional scientific stakeholders
  • Potential partnerships with research institutions, universities, or governmental bodies

3. Logistical Support

  • Available facilities (meeting rooms, technical infrastructure, translation services, etc.)
  • Assistance with on-site organization, including local transportation and accommodation recommendations
  • Any additional contributions the host institution can offer to ensure a successful event

Funding and support

The ISC Regional Focal Point for Latin America and the Caribbean will cover the costs of organizing the meeting, including travel and accommodation for the 13 participating members of the Liaison Committee.

Interested organizations should submit their proposals by March 14 via the online form below.
