Prof. Baojing Gu was trained as an ecologist with an emphasis on biogeochemical nitrogen cycling analysis and modelling from Zhejiang University in China and the University of Alberta and McGill University in Canada. Currently, he is co-leading the cost and benefit analyses of global nitrogen use under the framework of International Nitrogen Management System (INMS) to improve our understanding on the interactions between human and the nitrogen cycles. He has published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals, including some top-ranked journals such as Science, Nature and PNAS. He won the first Frontiers Planet Prize.
