Jean-Pierre Gattuso is a CNRS Research Professor at the Laboratoire d’Océanographie de Villefranche (Sorbonne University) and Associate Scientist at IDDRI. His research focuses on the impacts of ocean acidification and warming on marine ecosystems, as well as ocean-based solutions for climate mitigation and adaptation. He played a leading role in launching the Ocean Acidification International Coordination Centre at the IAEA and coedited the first book on ocean acidification and the Best Practice Guide for Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement. A founding member of the European Geosciences Union, he has contributed to several IPCC reports (AR5 and AR6). Gattuso’s work has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Vladimir Vernadsky Medal, the Blaise Pascal Medal, and the Ruth Patrick Award. He is an elected member of the European Academy of Sciences, Academia Europaea, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
