Dr. Li Li is a marine ecologist and biologist with a diverse academic background. She earned her master’s degree from Xiamen University, where she studied the ecology of marine virioplankton on a global scale, and later obtained her doctoral degree from the City University of Hong Kong, working on drug screening for estrogenic and chemotherapeutic effects using aquatic animal models. Her academic training also spans environmental science and international relations. In 2017, she joined the Surface Ocean-Lower Atmosphere Study (SOLAS) as a Project Officer and now serves as its Executive Director. Under her leadership, SOLAS is transitioning into its third decade with a new scientific and organizational framework to address pressing climate challenges and societal needs.
