Background

Linwood Pendleton is an environmental economist whose professional merits include serving as Senior Vice-President for Science at the Centre for the 4th Industrial Revolution, Lead Scientist for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Global Oceans, Director of Ocean and Coastal Policy for the Nicholas Institute, Acting Chief Economist for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) as well as founding the Marine Ecosystem Services Partnership.

Since 2014, Pendleton has served as the International Chair of Marine Ecosystem Services at the Laboratory of Excellence and European Institute for Marine Studies at the University of Western Brittany. He is also a senior fellow at Duke’s Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions (NIEPS) and Adjunct Associate Professor at the Duke University Marine Laboratory. Pendleton is also the founder of the Marine Ecosystem Services Partnership.
