Background

Tanja van der Lippe is Professor of Sociology at Utrecht University and member of the Netherlands Scientific Council for Government Policy. She has achieved prominence in the field of sociology and beyond by showing that work and family life are intertwined, and that success depends on both. She is recognized for her state-of-the-art multi-method data collections on gender, work-family issues, organizations and leadership, combining large-scale survey techniques with rigorous experimental study designs.  In 2022, Van der Lippe received the Simon Stevin Award, the most prominent Dutch award for researchers with international reputations who have achieved exceptional success in knowledge exchange and societal impact. She received an ERC AdG for her research into investing in a sustainable workforce in Europe, followed by an ERC PoC to investigate whether the outcomes of the Sustainable Workforce could be shared internationally with business and other organizations. She is an elected member of the European Academy of Sociology, the Royal Dutch Society of Sciences, and the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.
