Background

Professor Yvonne Te Ruki Rangi o Tangaroa Underhill-Sem (MNZM) is a Pacific feminist decolonial development geographer currently working at the University of Auckland where she teaches in Pacific Studies, Gender Studies and Development Studies. Yvonne’s research focusses on the intricacies of mobilities, maternities and markets in a warming world. Yvonne was awarded the Metge Medal from the Royal Society of New Zealand in recognition of her intellectual leadership on gendered social relations. Yvonne has been involved in various research assessment processes including the NZ Prime Ministers Chief Science Prize.
