The International Science Council Regional Focal Point for Asia and the Pacific (ISC RFP-AP) has successfully lobbied the Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) to secure the voice of science in the Asia Pacific regional review of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This is a significant opportunity for science expertise in the Asia-Pacific region to have input into the 2024 High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) and to identify gaps in information, highlight your work, share SDG success stories and contribute to the development of policy recommendations.
The theme of the 2024 HLPF is “Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: the effective delivery of sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions in Asia and the Pacific”.

Each SDG Goal Profile will seek to include a minimum of three different reviewers outside the UN system to provide feedback on the content of the Profile. The reference group will comprise representatives from major groups and other stakeholder constituencies. The reviewers will be required to provide substantive inputs to the SDG Goal Profiles and Round Tables (suggest panellists, facilitate group discussions during the Round Tables, support with reporting).
The objective of engaging with reference groups is to ensure quality, credibility, and effective representation of the SDG Goal Profile.
