As part of its follow-up and review mechanisms, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development encourages Member States to conduct regular and inclusive reviews of progress at the national and sub-national levels, which are country-led and country-driven.
To this end, Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) are comprehensive written reports submitted every year by a set of countries and reviewed at the High-level Political Forum (HLPF) to facilitate the sharing of experiences, including successes, challenges and lessons learned, with a view to accelerating the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. In addition, VNRs seek to strengthen policies and institutions of governments and to mobilize multi-stakeholder support and partnerships for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
How to participate
The International Science Council, as coordinator of the UN Scientific and Technological Community Major Group, is pleased to invite individuals who are working on the Sustainable Development Goals, and in particular supporting implementation at the national level, to engage in the VNR process at the HLPF.
Should you be interested in participating, please express your interest by completing this online form by 28 February 2023.
