Dr. Mobolaji Oladoyin Odubanjo has spent over 15 years linking evidence to policy-making. He contributed significantly towards the transformation of the Nigerian Academy of Science, where he serves as the Executive Secretary, from a largely honorific organization to a service-providing one.
He also facilitated several impactful collaborations and partnerships between the Academy and other academies and institutions globally. He is the chairman of the African chapter of the International Network for Government Science Advice (INGSA), promoting science advice capacity development in Africa. He also serves on the board of The Conversation Africa. Doyin is a past chairman of the Association of Public Health Physicians of Nigeria (Lagos chapter) and holds degrees from the University of Ibadan and the University College London.
Before working for the Nigerian Academy of Science, Dr. Odubanjo worked as a physician for the Nigerian government. He worked at various public healthcare facilities in rural and urban areas and was in charge of a general hospital with additional supervision of two primary health care facilities. His experience also includes voluntary services for non-profit organizations in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
