Membership Notice Board

All membership-related topics for members of the International Science Council at a glance.

The ISC Membership Notice Board serves as a two-track platform where the ISC as well as ISC Members, Affiliated Bodies and partners may share relevant information with the ISC membership.

In particular, the notice board includes an overview of all important membership-related notifications and deadlines in regards to ongoing calls for nominations and participation (below under Current Opportunities), an overview of upcoming ISC dates and events (below under Key ISC Dates and Events), as well as access to the most important ISC membership-related documents (below under Key ISC Documents).

In addition, you will find a list of current opportunities for participation within the ISC Family, a membership repository of best practice guidelines and international platforms as well as information about organizations that have recently joined the ISC membership.

New information will be added to this page on a continuous basis and ISC Members are encouraged to visit this page regularly.

If you would like to share information with all ISC Members and display it here on the notice board, please contact Anne Thieme.

While the first of these segments will be the virtual High-Level Launch of the Ocean Decade on 1 June 2021, the second segment will be the UN Ocean Decade Laboratories. Each Laboratory will address one of the Ocean Decade Outcomes, therefore, seven Laboratories will take place between July 2021 and May 2022.

Call for Artwork to help the IPCC make science accessible – #SayItWithScience

The UN Foundation and the IPCC are partnering to make climate science more accessible to global youth. The initiative, called #SayItWithScience, uses art to rapidly communicate climate solutions to new audiences. To make IPCC science more accessible, UNF is calling on young artists to help visualize climate solutions and energize the call to “unite behind the science.” As part of the Say It With Science initiative, this artwork would be credited in public communications and could potentially feature in upcoming report releases by the IPCC on the latest science of climate change. Get in touch with Sigourney Luz if you have any questions: s.luz@ipcc-wg3.ac.uk.

Join or establish a National Ocean Decade Committee

Voluntary National Decade Committees are now being established to support implementation of Ocean Decade initiatives at the national level – which include a strong training, capacity-development, and mutual assistance component – as well as support the coordination of Decade Actions within countries. National Decade Committees will help connect stakeholders looking to collaborate or share examples of successful co-design and co-delivery of activities to inspire action in others.
