Background

Before joining the WMO as Scientific Officer, Jim Douris served in the U.S. Navy for four years, two of which were at sea on an aircraft carrier. More recently, he held positions as a Financial Controller at Credit Suisse bank, Staff Meteorologist at a private weather company in the United States, and served as the Meteorological Station Chief in the United States Air National Guard. Mr. Douris has a Business and Finance degree from the European University and is a trained and certified Meteorologist.

His expertise has led him to contribute to and author several significant publications.
