Science, Technology and Innovation in the Caribbean – Strengthening Cooperation Conference was held in Trinidad and Tobago

From May 2nd to May 4th, the “Science, Technology and Innovation in the Caribbean – Strengthening Cooperation” Conference was held in Trinidad and Tobago, an activity hosted by the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), a grouping of twenty countries: fifteen Member States and five Associate Members.

Presenters included Harold Ramkissoon, The Rt. Honorable Dr. Keith Mitchell, Prime Minister of Grenada and Prime Minister responsible for S&T in CARICOM, Prof. Jeremy McNeil, Prof. Manuel Limonta, among others.

The Director of the Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (ROLAC), Dr. Manuel Limonta, had an important participation on the second day of the conference. Dr. Limonta was able to present to the audience about the ICSU ROLAC and the work it carries out in the region. Also, he presented two different proposals for the region: a proposal for a Mathematics Workshop; and the second on a Central and Caribbean South American Government Science Advice Workshop.
