The Geneva Workshop on Innovations in Scholarly Communication

6 - 10 September 2021 Online
The Geneva Workshop on Innovations in Scholarly Communication

Background

The OAI Workshop is a conference on innovations in scholarly communication taking place in Geneva every two years. The event normally gathers some 200 colleagues from across the world. Going fully virtual this year, we see the potential of doubling the number of participants. Information about former workshops in the series can be found in A Brief History of OAI Workshops in Geneva.

The vision is for the meeting in Geneva to be a premier 360 research event in the year in which it is held – cutting edge, progressive and challenging orthodoxy. Previous agendas for the OAI meetings can be found at OAI11, OAI10 and OAI9. Earlier agendas are also available on the CERN website.

Workshop

The fifth session of OAI12 is “The Future of Open Science” and it will be a mix of invited speakers and the result of a call for papers. The topics of this section are broad, from a visionary look into how the world will look like if the research process is fully transparent, to more specific papers about the future of academic conferences, research data, access to scholarly publishing, research, open research and commercialization, etc.

Call for Contributions

If you think you could have an outstanding contribution to such a session or if you could recommend a speaker in this sense, please submit your proposal here. The call is open until 27 April 2021.
