This symposium aims to raise awareness of open science and citizen science and will unite librarians, educators, scholars, citizen scientists, students specializing in library and information science, as well as teachers and enthusiasts hailing from various corner of the world. Citizen science embodies the collaborative engagement of society in scientific research, and this symposium endeavours to position libraries as central hubs for catalysing citizen science initiatives.
