The “Science Diplomacy for Sustainable Development Symposium” aims to bring together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders from around the world to explore the pivotal role of science diplomacy in addressing global challenges and promoting sustainable development.

In today’s interconnected world, where global developments and challenges transcend political boundaries, science diplomacy emerges as a potent tool for fostering international cooperation. This symposium seeks to underscore the integral role of science in transcending political divides and leveraging scientific collaboration to tackle pressing issues such as pandemics, migration, and pollution.

The symposium will also emphasize the importance of interdisciplinary and international networks in addressing complex challenges. By promoting the exchange of knowledge and resources across AASSA countries and beyond, the symposium aims to enhance the role of science and technology in national innovation systems, paving the way for shared progress and sustainable solutions. The conference aims to provide a broad framework for policymakers; diplomats; representatives from International Organizations, NGOs and Civil Society Organizations; scientists and researchers; members of science academies and societies; industry leaders; and academia.
