International Foundation for Science (IFS)

IFS has been a member since 1993.

The International Foundation for Science (founded in 1972) is a non-governmental organization with a membership of 125 scientific academies and research councils in 82 countries. The Foundation is governed by an international Board of Trustees. The present mandate of IFS is to contribute to the strengthening of capacity in developing countries to conduct relevant and high quality research on the management, use and conservation of biological resources. IFS does it by identifying, through competitive grants and a careful selection process, young promising scientists and supporting them in their early careers to enable them to become established and recognized in national and international circles.
