The National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Korea is a member since 1961.
The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of the Republic of Korea was inaugurated on 17 July 1954, with the duty of further promoting the development of sciences and better facilitating the creative development of national culture. As a national institution representing scholars and scientists in the country, the National Academy of Sciences provides advice and recommendations to the government on matters pertaining to science and educational programmes. As part of its programmes to promote the sciences, the Academy sponsors an annual international symposium and holds a number of membership seminars. It also publishes various academic publications.
