Dr. Dikabo Mogopodi serves as Deputy Secretary General for Botswana Academy of Science where she has led projects and initiated strategic partnerships. She is the founding Secretary General for OWSD-Botswana National Chapter where she also leads capacity building workshops for women in STEM.
She holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry and teaches Chemistry at the University of Botswana. She has worked in many areas of research including water safety, food safety and food security with focus on indigenous plants. She is a member of Network of African Science Academies; Women for Science Working Group. She serves in advisory committees as an assessor, nationally and internationally. She is a former Next Einstein Forum Ambassador 2019-2022, under which she organized the first Africa Science Week conference for SADC region, a fellow for Africa Science Leadership Programme and a fellow for Black Women in Science.
She is an Associate of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. She serves in Aphrike Research Secretariat. She has served in Innovation Equity Forum Steering Committee and contributed to mapping Women’s Health Innovation Opportunity Map which identifies 50 opportunities for catalyzing innovation to improve women’s health supported by Bill&Melinda Gates Foundation and NIH.
