Ilaria Corsi is a marine ecotoxicologist working on legacy and emerging pollutants including nanomaterials and nano-plastics and their environmental behaviour and biological effects on marine organisms (http://orcid.org/0000-0002-1811-3041).
She is Associate Professor of Ecology and Ecotoxicology at the University of Siena (Italy) and Head of the Ecotoxicology and Biological Monitoring research Lab. She is also co-chair of the Plastic in Polar Environment Action Group the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR). Her main research interests are marine ecotoxicology of classical and new emerging contaminants including endocrine disruptors, pharmaceutical and personal care products and nanomaterials. Biological/toxicological responses induced by contaminants exposure are investigated at different levels of biological organization through a wide panel of biomarkers from detoxification/biotransformation pathways to neurotoxicity, genotoxicity, cytotoxicity, endocrine disruption and reproductive impairments.
