Laura Cochrane is a seasoned expert in health security, global government partnerships, and program management, with extensive experience in science and technology leadership. She has managed international collaborations, driven medical device development, and provided scientific leadership in crisis response across CBRN preparedness. Laura holds advanced degrees and certifications from institutions such as Kalu Institute, Royal Military College of Canada, St. Andrews University, University of Bath, Cambridge University, London School of Economics, and the Asser Institute.
At Emergent BioSolutions (2013-Present), Laura advanced from Director of Scientific Operations and Partnerships to Vice President of Global Medical Affairs, developing health security partnerships, leading medical countermeasure initiatives, and directing diverse teams. At Bracco Diagnostics (2009-2013), she drove medical device development and collaborated with global health and defence ministries. At Allen-Vanguard Corporation (1999-2009), Laura held roles including Chief Technical Officer and General Manager of the CBRN Division, directing operations and product development for emergency response and military markets.
Laura served as an Aerospace Engineering Officer with the Royal Canadian Airforce and held various positions at Canadian Forces Bases. She is a lecturer for NATO Biological Warfare Awareness Course, a guest lecturer at University of Cranfield, and a member of the NATO DIANA network.
