Nicholas Bishop is IOM’s Global DRR Programme Lead. His role is focused on inter-agency coordination, mission level support inclusive of programme design and implementation, and policy engagement. He is IOM’s institutional focal point for Early Warnings for All and additional global policy processes.
In 2022, Nick supported multiple international crisis responses as Emergency Coordinator in Central Asia for the Afghanistan regional response and the Ukraine crisis response as Senior Programme Coordinator.
Previously, Nicholas served as Emergency Response Lead in Kabul, Afghanistan from 2016-21. He has worked with IOM in Thailand, Sierra Leone, the Western Balkans, Turkey, Lebanon, Mozambique, Libya, and Uzbekistan focusing on humanitarian emergency response coordination and programming implementation.
He has written extensively for a variety of online publications on migration, refugees and current affairs.
Nicholas holds an LLB in Law and an M.A. in International Relations from Osaka University.
