Shambhavi Naik is the head of research and chairperson of the Advanced Biology Programme at Takshashila Institution, an independent thinktank based in Bengluaru. Shambhavi has a PhD in cancer biology and has worked in laboratories in the UK and India, before becoming a policy analyst. Her research group studies the governance of emerging life science technologies intending to balance the bioeconomy and biosecurity. She has participated in several disarmament conferences, Indo-US biosecurity dialogues and authored several publications on the strengthening of the biological weapons convention in the light of emerging technologies.
