Dr. Yonglong Lu is a Chair Professor of Xiamen University and the Dean of College of the Environment and Ecology, and Distinguished Professor of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He is an elected Fellow of TWAS (The World Academy of Sciences), a foreign member of Academia Europaea (AE) and the Russian Academy of Sciences, a member of 10-member Group in Support of the United Nations Technology Facilitation Mechanism (UN/TFM) appointed by UN Secretary General; past President of Scientific Committee on Problems of the Environment (SCOPE); President of Pacific Science Association (PSA); Member of International Resource Panel, United Nations Environment Program (UNEP/IRP); Vice President of Ecological Society of China; former member of Committee on Scientific Planning and Review, International Council for Sciences (ICSU/CSPR).
As an internationally active environmental ecologist and sustainability scientist, Prof. Lu has published 360 papers in peer reviewed journals such as Science, Nature, Science Advances, and PNAS, and he is a highly cited scientist listed by Elsevier. He is the founding Editor-in-Chief of Ecosystem Health and Sustainability- a Science Partner Journal, an Associate Editor of Science Advances, and editorial board member of other international journals. He has obtained various awards and honors because of his academic achievements.
