Professor Natalia Tarasova is the director of the Institute of Chemistry and Problems of Sustainable Development at D.Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia and the chairholder of UNESCO Chair in Green Chemistry for Sustainable Development. She is the corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. She has more than 440 publications in radiation chemistry, chemistry of phosphorus- and sulphur-containing polymers, green chemistry, education for sustainable development.
She has been the President of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) in 2016-2017 and the member of the Governing Board of the International Science Council in 2019-2021. Natalia Tarasova is a recipient of numerous scientific awards, including Academician V. Koptug Prize of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2011) and the Academician G.N.Flerov Prize of the Joint Institute of Nuclear Research. She is the Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Honorary Doctor of the Bowling Green State University (USA).
