Belmont Forum: Climate, Environment and Health 2 Collaborative Research Action – Asia Regional Scoping Workshop

You are cordially invited to the Belmont Forum Climate, Environment and Health (CEH) Collaborative Research Action (CRA) Scoping Meeting. This scoping meeting is designed to bring together scientists and practitioners at the intersection of climate, environment and health in order to:

• 1) Identify scientific and institutional barriers for action;
• 2) Create greater communication across sectors and communities;
• 3) Identify and align research and funding priorities;

This will help shape the content and funding capacity of the CEH2 call for proposals anticipated in 2022. Tony Capon will kick off a robust discussion on climate, environment, and health challenges of the region.

Anthony Capon

Director, Sustainable Development Institute, Monash University and Future Earth Health KAN Co-chair

Tony Capon directs the Monash Sustainable Development Institute and holds a chair in Planetary Health in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University. A public health physician and authority in environmental health and health promotion, his research focuses on urbanisation, sustainable development and human health. Tony is a former director of the International Institute for Global Health at United Nations University (UNU-IIGH) and has previously held professorial appointments at the University of Sydney and Australian National University. He is a member of the Rockefeller Foundation–Lancet Commission on Planetary Health and the International Advisory Board for The Lancet Planetary Health.
