R. Daniel Peluffo holds a PhD in Biochemistry, Univ. of Buenos Aires, Argentina and a Postdoc in Biophysics/Electrophysiology, Univ. of Pennsylvania, USA.

He is a Full Professor of Biophysics, Director of the Group of Biophysical Chemistry, and Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences (11 Research Groups, 62 people), Centro Universitario Regional Litoral Norte (CENUR North Riverside), Salto Campus, Universidad de la República (Uruguay). He is also Adjunct Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology, Physiology and Neuroscience, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, New Jersey Medical School, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, USA; President, Latin American Federation of Biophysical Societies (LAFeBS); Delegate on behalf of Uruguay, Asociación de Universidades del Grupo Montevideo (AUGM, International Association integrated by Universities of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay); Councelor, Scientific Council for the Biology Area Program for the Development of the Basic Sciences (PEDECIBA, Ministry of Education and Culture, Uruguayan Government); Member, National System of Investigators (SNI, Uruguay), US Biophysical Society.
