The Pan African Conference on Crystallography (PCCr2), took place at the University of Ghana, Accra. This Conference was co-organised by IUCr & IUPAP. ISC ROA gave a presentation and financially supported this event.
This conference follows a successful one held in 2016 in Cameroon and was aimed at bringing together African crystallographers, mineralogists, structural scientists and biologists to increase awareness of crystallography and improve the educational opportunities for African researchers and students of all levels. The variety of activities provided opportunities to engage with the scientific community, from expert crystallographers to young researchers and students of all ages, as well as government representatives and policy-makers in Ghana. As part of maintaining relation with the ISC National Members, ISC Regional Office for Africa visited the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences and have a fruitful discussion with the Executive Secretary and updated the Academy of the Council’s activities at global and regional levels.
