From September 18th-21st, The Institute of Social Sciences in Lisbon University hosted the workshop “Implementing Systems Science for Urban Health and Well-Being under Climate Change”. The purpose of the meeting was to exchange knowledge and formulate recommendations on how to mix the knowledge scientists have with the actions required to improve health and well being in cities with climate change.

The Institute of Social Sciences in Lisbon University was the host for the workshop “Implementing Systems Science for Urban Health and Well-Being under Climate Change” on September 18th-21st. This workshop had three main goals:

This meeting was attended by a group of experts including Franz Gaztweiler, UH WV program exec. Director; Charles Ebikeme, of ISC; Virginia Murray, of Public Health England; and other participants at the University of Lisbon. The purpose of the meeting was to exchange knowledge and formulate recommendations on how to mix the knowledge we have with the actions required to improve health and well being in cities with climate change. At the meeting there were agreements on conceptual approaches and recommendations for policy makers and the academy. The outcome of this meeting will be published in the UHWB Policy Brief Series.
