The ASSW-24’s local organising committee is looking forward to welcoming you to Edinburgh for the events of the Arctic Science Summit Week 2024. The conference will take place between 21-29 March and there is an exciting programme of business, community and science meetings (21-26 March); an Arctic Science Day with the theme “Arctic Coasts” in the fabulous Dynamic Earth science centre (26 March); and three days for the important Arctic Observing Summit 2024 (27-29 March). The venue for the main events of ASSW2024 and AOS2024 will be the University of Edinburgh’s Pollock Estate, a short walk or bus ride from the centre of the city. Please ensure that you complete the registration process as soon as you can to avoid any disappointment. Registration fees include lunch each day, as well as coffee and tea breaks, and other refreshments. There will be a Welcome Reception in the historic Edinburgh City Chambers on the 22 March, courtesy of the Lord Provost of Edinburgh. The Conference Dinner will be on the 25th of March in the iconic Playfair Library Hall within the University. The Summit will be a fully hybrid event, with options for in-person and online attendance. Early bird registration fees will be available until 31 January 2024. Edinburgh has a wide range of accommodation to suit everyone. There are special discounts for ASSW2024 attendees at the Scott and the Scholar Hotels (see more details here), subject to availability. Edinburgh is extremely well connected for international travel and has good train links to the rest of the country, further information on travel to the Summit is available here.
Early Career Researchers and Indigenous Researchers and Knowledge Holders are strongly welcomed and encouraged to participate in the Summit. Support for registration and travel costs can be provided by the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) through a competitive process. Further details are available here and the deadline for applications is on 15 December 2023.

The “Early Bird” registration is available until 31 January 2024. Reduced registration fees are also available for Indigenous participants and Early Career Scientists.
