The International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) is announcing a free webinar titled “A 3-stage strategy to improve the efficiency and reproducibility of your experiments”. Join Dr Simon Bate, Prof Clare Stanford (representing the IUPHAR committee for Transparency and Reproducibility) & Dr Nikki Osborne.

During this webinar Simon & Clare will combine forces to introduce a 3-step strategy that will both strengthen reproducibility through improved experimental design and reduce the number of animals needed for in vivo studies. They will discuss the differences between pilot studies, hypothesis generating, and hypothesis confirming experiments and describe how these three types of experiments can be combined to address a scientific question.

Webinar topics

  • The differences between pilot studies, hypothesis generating experiments and hypothesis confirming experiments,
  • The benefits of designing an experimental strategy in advance versus an ad-hoc approach,
  • A new 3-stage approach to improving your experimental investigation,
  • Further information and useful resources.

Please visit the webinar registration page for more information.
