Armenia, National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (NAS RA)

The National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia has been a member since 1992.

The National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia was founded in 1943 as an independent, self-governing organization. Today, the Academy includes more than 45 institutes, technological centres and other scientific units where fundamental and applied research is carried out in the fields of natural, technical and humanitarian sciences. The Academy has 121 members and 27 foreign and honorary members representing three scientific divisions: Division of Physical, Mathematical and Technical Sciences, Division of Natural Sciences and Division of Humanitarian Sciences. It also has a publishing house and library. The NAS has scientific exchange programmes and collaborates with scientific organizations throughout the world.
