International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX)

IUTOX has been a member since 1996.

International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX) mission: Improve human health through the science and practice of toxicology world-wide.

In 1980, IUTOX was founded in Brussels during the 2nd International Congress of Toxicology. Today IUTOX has grown to 62 member societies representing six continents and over 25,000 scientists from industry, academia, and government. IUTOX strives to broaden the geographical base of toxicology as a discipline and as a profession in all countries of the world; to assist in the education and career development of young toxicologists; and to pursue capacity building in toxicology, particularly in countries where toxicology is under-represented. Besides its membership in ISC, IUTOX has official status as a non-governmental organization (NGO) in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO). Key to its educational endeavors, IUTOX offered the Risk Assessment Summer School (RASS) in Germany for many years, which led to the later expansion of risk assessment training courses in Africa, Asia and Latin America. IUTOX hosts a Congress of Toxicology in Developing Countries (CTDC) and an International Congress of Toxicology (ICT) in three-year intervals.

The IUTOX website has details about its leadership, meetings and activities.
