International Arctic Science Committee (IASC)

IASC has been a member since 2005.

The International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) founded in 1990, is a non-governmental, international membership organisation that encourages, promotes and facilitates cooperation in all aspects of Arctic research, and in all parts of the Arctic. IASC strives to integrate human, social and natural sciences concerned with the Arctic and provide scientific advise on Arctic issues.

The main activity of IASC is to assist with the development of research projects for which circumarctic or international cooperation is necessary. Information about ongoing projects is available in an annual Project Catalogue (printed copies as well as on the website).

Members of IASC are national science organisations (usually national academies of science). At present 23 countries are represented.
