Call for peer reviewers: Frontiers Planet Prize, third edition

Individuals associated with an ISC Member organization and ISC Fellows are invited to express their interest in participating in peer review for the Frontiers Planet Prize by 15:00 UTC / 16.00 CET, 22 October 2024.

The Frontiers Planetary Prize launched by the Frontiers Research Foundation rewards exceptional contributions in the study of planetary boundaries. For more details on the Prize, please consult the ISC dedicated page. Three prizes worth a total of CHF 3 million (~USD $3.2m) will be awarded in this third edition, to the world’s most innovative contributions offering globally scalable solutions to protect and restore planetary health. All relevant domains of science will be considered.

The Prize is organized as a three-step process

  1. The “National Nominating Bodies” (any university, academy, or research council) are invited to submit up to three articles each to a national representative body.
  2. The ISC coordinates the reviews of prize applications from countries that do not have National Representative Bodies. This is the step you are involved in.
  3. As a reviewer, you are likely to be assigned up to 20 articles to review (the deadline for evaluation submission is 26 November 16.00 CET).
  4. The top three reviewed articles of each country are then moved forward to the Frontier Planet Prize International Jury for review.
