Open call for participation in ISC regional COVID-19 online workshops

Contribute expertise to the ISC COVID-19 Outcomes Scenarios Project by attending one of our regional workshops

The call is now closed.

With the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and the World Health Organization (WHO) as observers, the International Science Council (ISC) is conducting the COVID-19 Outcomes Scenarios Project to understand the long-term global consequences and how the pandemic will evolve in the next three to five years.

Preparation [for the long-term] is key. The mindset now is to think: Once we have the vaccines, everything is wonderful. I believe that we will be dealing with COVID-19 for a long time, and crucially we can prepare for many future events because they are foreseeable. That is why I find this project so important, because it can hint to possible long-term scenarios and how to prepare for them.

Prof. Christiane Woopen
Member of the COVID-19 Scenarios Project Oversight Panel, Executive Director of ceres, Professor of Ethics and Theory of Medicine, Head of the Research Unit Ethics, University of Cologne.

The ISC is now inviting its Members and the wider scientific community to suggest individuals (yourself or other experts) to participate in a set of regional online workshops towards the end of July/beginning of August that will help us understand the likely outcome of the COVID-19 pandemic. The regional workshops will take place in the following regions:

  • North America (concluded)
  • Europe (concluded)
  • Western Pacific region (concluded)

  • Public Health/Health
  • Systems
  • Epidemiology
  • Immunology
  • Virology/Microbiology
  • Mental health
