This non-hereditary title was conferred in recognition of Othman’s distinguished career in astrophysics and science diplomacy.
Othman, who was born in Negeri Sembilian, was one of only two people receiving the award in 2020. This is the highest state title conferred by the Ruler to high-ranking recipients who have contributed significantly to the nation or state.
