Moumita joined the International Science Council as a consultant on the Future of Scientific Publishing project in March 2023. She is also an STI policy researcher and visiting scientist at the DST-Centre for Policy Research, IISc, Bangalore, India.
Open Science is her primary research interest. She is exploring answers to a few questions: how to enhance the accessibility of scientific output? How to make the research ecosystem more efficient and responsible? How to make research respond to local problems? She has published several research articles on Open Access and Research Assessment Practices.
Moumita holds a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the Vienna University of Technology, Vienna, Austria. Her Ph.D. was focused on synthesizing small molecules that can direct the differentiation of pluripotent stem cells toward heart muscle cells.
