Sabrina Speich is a full professor of Oceanography and Climate Sciences at the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) of Paris and a member of the Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique (LMD) and the French climate Institute Pierre-Simon Laplace (IPSL).
She is a physical oceanographer particularly interested in the uncovering and understanding of ocean dynamics and air-sea interactions and their role on climate variability, change and related impacts. She is an expert in ocean modelling as well as in organizing wide programs of in situ observations.
She has been involved since the beginning in the Argo profiling float international program. She has two decades of experience in conceiving large international observing and modelling projects to better assess ocean and climate processes and monitor changes. She has been working together with the international community (within projects and organizations) to improve the ocean observing strategy and capacity.
Recently she started to focus her research on ocean-atmosphere dynamics in relation with climate change and climate adaptation. She is also involved in interdisciplinary programs assessing marine ecosystems under global warming.
