This revised Africa Science Plan aims at re-focussing research based on the current state of the science, through addressing emerging challenges in disaster risk.
These challenges concern how to: build research capacity in order to prevent hazards from becoming disasters; enable informed decisions on actions to reduce their impacts; and link disaster risk reduction to poverty reduction and the improved well-being of all people in Africa.
