Argentina, National Scientific and Technological Research Council (CONICET)

The National Scientific and Technological Research Council has been a member since 1931.

The National Scientific and Technological Research Council , created in 1958 under the State Secretariat for Science and Technology, promotes and carries out research in the natural, medical and social sciences, as well as in engineering and technology. CONICET is allocated more than 40% of Argentina’s federal R&D budget, much of which is allocated as grants, fellowships and support for research institutions. conicet maintains close relations with intergovernmental agencies, and has links with most of its counterparts in America, Europe and Asia.
