In a world faced with complex global challenges, from climate change to pandemic response, the demand – and the potential – for science to provide actionable, solutions-orientated knowledge that can inform transformative political and societal responses has never been greater.
The International Science Council, through the voice of its Regional Office in Latin America and the Caribbean, will explore these global imperatives calling for sustainability and innovation in a series of events during the Sustainability Research & Innovation (SRI) Congress held in Panama between 26-30 June 2023.
The Sustainability Research & Innovation (SRI) Congress is the world’s largest transdisciplinary gathering for the global sustainability community. The third edition of the SRI Congress, SRI2023, will be hosted in Panama City by the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Republic of Panama (SENACYT) and the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) between 26-30 June 2023, bringing this global event to the Latin American and Caribbean Region.
We invite you to join us for a series of hybrid sessions which will serve to strengthen the voice of Latin American science, and work towards developing the actionable pathways that advance science as a global public good, with the ISC in its convening role as the global voice for science.
The ISC following side-events during the SRI Congress will feature the Regional Focal Point for Latin America and the Caribbean, and its Liaison Committee, together with ISC Members, partners and stakeholders from the Latin America and the Caribbean region:
