The Global Knowledge Dialogue (GKD) Asia-Pacific will be held on 6 October 2023 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre during the 2023 International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference (IGEM). The ISC Regional Focal Point for Asia and the Pacific through the Australian Academy of Science, and the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, will host this event. Presidents, executive officers, ISC focal points and key decision makers of ISC Members in the region, along with ISC Fellows and representatives of ISC affiliated bodies will gather during this GKD to work towards providing a powerful and credible voice for science from Asia and the Pacific on the global stage.

The day’s proceedings will result in essential regional dialogues providing a roadmap for the ISC Regional Focal point for Asia and the Pacific, and its upcoming initiatives. The event will serve to strengthen the voice of science in the region, and work towards developing the actionable pathways that advance science as a global public good.

The Global Knowledge Dialogue is a series of events convened by the ISC in the various regions of the world, starting in Africa in 2022 at the World Science Forum, continued in 2023 in Europe and Asia-Pacific as well as Latin-America-Caribbean in 2024. The aim of the series is to secure a powerful global voice for science by engaging the ISC membership and fostering international scientific collaboration between governments, scientists, research funders, the private sector and civil society.
The ISC has partnered with The International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM), where we will have an exhibition space. IGEM is a trade event for green technologies and eco solutions in Asia and the Pacific attracting thousands of visitors, and therefore will be a new community for the ISC and its Members to explore. Our GKD will sit on the margins of this event. It is essential to also register for IGEM in order to gain access to the expo space and GKD. Registration to IGEM is free.
IGEM2023 will be held from 4 – 6 October 2023 from 9:00 – 18:00 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Register for IGEM2023.

Join us for a VIP dinner on the evening of 5 October supported by the Frontiers Planet Prize. Buses will depart from Traders Hotel lobby Buses will depart 18:30, 18:45 and later at19:30 (to cater for evening prayers) for De Wan (@ The Linc), described as a modern Malaysian culinary adventure.
Participants are expected and strongly encouraged to cover their own expenses, however, the ISC has a limited number of bursaries available to enable the participation of delegates who require financial support from least developed countries in the region, or those Members who have hardship. Bursaries are now closed. If you have received a bursary, please fill in the travel form before 18 August 2023.
