Implementing the eight principles for scientific publishing will challenge aspects of the culture and practice of science that have developed in recent decades. It will demand bold and ambitious action, and mutual collaboration between different stakeholders.
The ISC is now working to support implementation of the principles with key stakeholders from across the science system, including the scientific disciplinary unions and associations, national academies and regional scientific organizations that make up the ISC’s membership; national and international research funding bodies, universities and institutes; learned society publishers; open access publishers; and open science bodies.
