The World Science Forum is a highlight on the global science and science-policy conference agenda. Every two years, scientists and policymakers from all over the world, gather for the World Science Forum with focus on the social and economic relevance, influence and responsibilities of science. In 2024, this internationally renowned event takes place in Budapest, Hungary under the theme “The science and policy interface at the time of global transformations”.
The World Science Forum series was inspired by the success of the prestigious meeting “World Conference on Science for the Twenty-First Century: a New Commitment“, held between 26 June to 1 July 1999 in Budapest, Hungary and convened by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the International Council for Scientific Unions (now the International Science Council), in co-operation with other partners. Every second Forum takes place in Budapest, with previous forums being hosted by South Africa in 2022 and Jordan in 2017.
The World Science Forum 2024 will be held from 20 to 23 November 2024 in Budapest, Hungary.
